Besides playing XBox 360 during the offseason (as mentioned in my previous post), The Utility Man still keeps crowds laughing in the cold winter months.  Last night, The Utility Man performed long-form improv comedy with Lehigh Valley-based troupe, The Flighty Ducks.  The Utility Man's alter ego, Ben, is a permanent member of the 7-person improv and sketch comedy group.  However, The Utility Man filled in for Ben during the Ducks' superhero-themed show last night in Bethlehem, PA.  Find out more about the Flighty Ducks by liking them on Facebook. :V

Hey Friends!

What does a touring baseball entertainer do to pass time in the off-season?  LOTS of video games.

I'm now on XBox Live!  Username: "UtilityManBen". Friend me and let's party playing "HALO 4"!

Play Ball (and video games)!

I am blogging about a blog!  After your mind has recovered from being blown, read the latest entry to Ben's Biz Blog!  Skipper and I were featured during a post about the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.  The hilarious picture below is included.  I'm thankful to make it into my favorite blog for a 2nd time.  Please show Ben some online gratitude and read his blog regularly and follow him on Twitter: @bensbiz

In my inaugural season of 2012, I performed for a total of 38,583 Minor League Baseball fans! An average of 4,823 per road performance! (Add in Lehigh Valley and it's hundreds of thousands more!)

Thank you fans for not only coming out to the ballpark but for being so much fun and accepting of my wacky, nutty, crazy, silly, gaga sense of humor and performance!  It is a privilege to see so many smiles and hear so many laughs on a nightly basis!

If you enjoyed my performances, please contact your team and ask them to bring me back next season.  If I didn't perform in your town, please contact your team and ask them to have me...then organize a hunger strike until they agree!

Also, I welcome any feedback on my performances by Email at UtilityManEntertainment@Gmail.com.

THANK YOU TO MY 38,583 BEST FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Friends!

I had back-to-back, jam-packed, clickity-clack, far from whack nights with the Harrisburg Senators!

I debuted a new singing character "Benny Karaoke" (video on left) and my new puppet friend, Skipper (previous blog bost).

The Phantom of the Ballpark made another appearance, this time taking Senators mascot Rascal hostage (video on right).

Harrisburg got to see my full arsenal of characters that weekend and were an absolute blast to entertain!  Can't wait to be back next year!

Please welcome Skipper, my newest friend and recent addition to my act!

It took just a few days for him to develop from a wee patch of fur and foam to a sophisticated, kid-friendly fuzzball!  Thanks to my best friend and professional puppeteer Daniel Eli Becker for creating him!  (Contact me if you'd like Dan to create a character for you!)

He debuted with the Harrisburg Senators on August 3rd and has made multiple trips through the stands in Lehigh Valley, as well.

Skipper will be featured in some off-season videos, so make sure to check out my official YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/milbutilityman

It's the inaugural season for The Utility Man, but the 87th for Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.  It was a thrill to perform inside one of the oldest functioning ballparks in the nation.  Equally awesome, the stadium is next to the site of the Little League World Series.  Thankfully, despite my short stature and high speaking voice, I was not mistaken for a 12-year-old ballplayer while in town.

The Utility Man played catch with kids as their parents waited in line for the free hot dog giveaway.  He also got to throw out a first pitch and pal around with Boomer, one of the best mascots in the nation.  Benyonce did his/her thing during the dirt drag.  The Wacky Food Vendor unveiled a new product: authentic forged autographs. The Phantom of the Ballpark put Boomer and Crosscutters Director of Smiles Rashan under a spell...only to be foiled by the crowds boisterous cheer!

The Crosscutters weren't victorious, but the fans were winners in my eyes.  I can't thank the Williamsport faithful for their laughs, smiles and support.  They were Single-A fans cheering at a Major League level!  I can't wait to go back next year!

I made my kinda-sorta late night television debut on "Pretending to be on Television with Glen Tickle" last Sunday.  Like the show describes, it's not really on TV, but it was fun crowd at the Bethlehem, PA Steel Stacks.  Thanks to Glen, Pat Janssen and Jon Schaeffer for the fun time!  Visit the website:  http://pretendingtobeontv.com/

I was dared to eat a hot dog ice cream sundae (like a banana split...but sub the banana for an elongated meat product) at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs game.  See if I did it...

The awesome folks at the Trenton Thunder put together a great highlight reel from my weekend at Waterfront Park.  Watch it below!  Thanks to Kelly Wasilewski and Greg Lavin for the video!!!
